BofA Study Shows Its Notes Beat Linked Assets
Bank of America Corp. said returns its structured notes usually matched or beat those of linked assets, in a nine-year performance study that may be the most complete for such products in the U.S.
Yields for almost three-quarters of “Accelerated Return Notes,” which made up the largest category and typically pay a multiple of an index’s gains up to a cap, equaled or exceeded those of underlyings, according to a report the bank filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The study had details on 661 securities that matured or were redeemed between Sept. 20, 2002, and Dec. 31, 2011.
