Banks Trumpet Lower VaR as Crisis Recedes
Six months after a flawed value-at-risk model contributed to JPMorgan Chase & Co.
losing $6.2 billion, European investment banks are highlighting reduced VaR numbers as evidence that their risks are under control.
BNP Paribas SA, Deutsche Bank AG, Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc, Societe Generale SA and UBS AG each reported lower VaR in their latest quarterly filings.
